So you want to see the islands! Now how do you find flights to the Azores?
Remember that the Azores are a largely undiscovered location. Which is probably why you want to go there! When you go to the Acores you get away from your busy life at home. You get to enjoy peace in a lush landscape with beautiful views.
Being a location that is not a Mecca for tourists means that there also will not be a huge number of choices for Azores flights.
The good news is that there are regular flights to and from the Acores. You just have to know where to start looking!
The main airline offering flights to the Azores is Azores Airlines (formerly SATA). There are other carriers as well that can be considered, depending on where you are travelling from (especially possible within Europe).
I have always flown from Toronto (Pearson Airport) and can report that there are 2-3 flights weekly from Pearson.
Most European flights have a stop or connection in Lisbon. But it is possible to find direct flights - especially in the "high season" of the summer.
I have primarily noticed direct flights from Italy, the UK, Germany, and France. I recall flights from Spain, Switzerland and Finland but can't find any recently listed.
The following airports are likely places where flights to the Azores would originate (this varies)
Take your time searching for flights. Look for hubs like Toronto or Boston (from North America), as well as London, Paris and Lisbon (from Europe). The major Azores airport is on the island of San Miguel in the city of Ponta Delgada (Joao Paulo II Airport - PDL). Depending on where you are it may take a bit of effort to find a convenient flight ... trust me, it is well worth the effort!
Sata International is the main airline providing International Azores Flights.
