This Sao Miguel Azores Map gives a good view of the largest island in the Azores Archipelago.

This is an island that you can't possibly see in one day. For example, a city at the eastern end of the island, called Nordeste, is often referred to as the tenth island of Sao Miguel. This is because it takes so long to get there due to the winding roads. Years ago it was faster to go to one end of the island to the other by boat. Slowly, over centuries and decades of progress, roads have made their way across the island. Now it is much easier to get there. But all the same, this island has lots to offer and I suggest staying for at least a week.
